Dreamville President Ibrahim Hamad tweeted about the accomplishment: “Congrats to my brother @jcolenc on his 4th Platinum album. Also congrats to @Dreamville and All producers & musicians who worked on 4YEO.”
J. Cole is set to go on a 57-city tour, beginning on June 1st in Columbia, SC and ending on December 9th in Perth Australia, which will mark the one year anniversary of his album.
A documentary titled after the album will premiere on HBO.
As noted by Billboard, the film was “[s]hot in multiple locations including Baton Rouge, Atlanta, Ferguson, his native Fayetteville and his father’s hometown of Jonesboro, Ark.”
J. Cole has been recognized for achieving platinum status without any features on 4 Your Eyes Only and 2014 Forest Hills Drive.
He can be heard on Joey Bada$$’ latest album “ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$” for the track” Legendary.”
This may be his last collab ever — he told the fellow rap artist and friend that he won’t be doing any more feature verses (SoundPurple).
