Kelly Rowland wants you to #KnockOutHeartDisease and is using her platform to raise awareness about it.
She partnered with WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease and Burlington Stores to take a stand and help people, especially women.
According to the American Heart Association, “Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year.”
Kelly Rowland was a guest on Dr. Oz to discuss the #KnockOutHeartDisease campaign and share her story.
In 2014, she lost her mother to a fatal heart attack.
“Two weeks after I had my son, I lost my mom. It was definitely a shocker. It was so sudden and it hurt. There were no signs of it at all.”
Educate yourself: “It’s just important to know whats going on [and] have the knowledge. You don’t wait until someone diagnoses something that has to do with heart disease.”
Her Healthy Habits: “I am slightly obsessed with eating clean and working out. especially now that I have my son — I want to be here for [them]. I try keep a stress-free life and I try to meditate as much as I can.”
Burlington announced that free heart health screenings events will be held at select locations nationwide from February 1 through March 31.
