8-month-old Bryce was riding in a car with her family on an Arkansas interstate when things took a turn for the worse.
As noted by KSLA News 12, Texarkana police reported that a tractor-trailer collided with their car. As a result, their vehicle spun out of control, hit a guardrail and flipped. The impact caused baby Bryce to be thrown 35 feet away from the car.
Captain Charlie Smith and firefighter Josh Moore found her in a storm drain, alive with no injuries.
Josh Moore (firefighter) told KSLA News 12: ”The eight month old was actually sitting down in the grate, sitting up and looking up at us, waiting for us to pull her out…She wasn’t screaming, she wasn’t crying, she was just sitting there waiting for us.”
Her mother, Jakesia Colson, spent 30 minutes looking for Bryce, who is her only child.
When she was found, she was looking to the sky. The family of five survived the crash with no major injuries: “I’m happy to be alive…my mama could have been planning three funerals but she doesn’t have to because we’re all alive” Shameerah Colson said, in tears (KSLA News 12).
“I feel like God took her out of the car and placed her there. She’s still alive. She’s my miracle baby.” – Jakesia Colson (mother), KSLA News 12
