P. Diddy Combs has been making serious moves. He is currently on tour for the “Bad Boy Family Reunion” featuring artists Faith Evans, Lil Kim, Mase, 112, Total and more.
He has been working on something even bigger as the co-founder of Harlem’s newest charter school – Capital Preparatory Harlem School.
In an off-script discussion with PIX11, he told them how he felt about finally opening this school after taking on 6 years of planning for it:
“Instead of me complaining about education. I want to do something about it. So that’s why I’m starting this school.”
As noted by PIX11, this news has sparked mixed reactions due to its past performance. The Capital Preparatory School Network was founded in 2005 in Hartford, CT and received criticism for students transferring to other schools before graduation.
Dr. Perry, the founder, addressed that and said: “We’ve sent 100 percent of our graduates to four year colleges. We’re not playing. We’re not going to back down from that. We are proud of what we’ve done, but we recognize we have so much to do” (PIX 11).
Despite the criticism, students and parents are excited and have high hopes for a successful school year.
